In 2005, the Agency made best use of the favourable conditions to perfect and stabilize its ogranisation, improve facilities, develop potentials to be well fit with the function of a State administrative organ in such a specialized field. It also attached special attention to compile and complete normative legal documents to create the legal base and tools to fulfill its duties.
Furthermore, VARANSAC in cooperation with MOST inspectors and specialized inspecting group carried out radioactive inspection activities nationwide (the year 2005 witnessed the inspection of 52 establishments which is 5 times as many as those in 2004). As licensing function was specifically authorized, there had been totally 52 radioactive establishments licensed in 2004. A part from that, the Agency also pushed forwards its external affairs in studying international conventions, establishing 10 technical standards, and attracting projects funded by international organisations.
